Fairy, Gnome, and Bendy Doll Making Tutorials, Video's, Patterns and How-To's Pinterest Board

What child hasn't been enamored with fairies at some point in time?  My granddaughters certainly were.  I know I was as a child and used to imagine them flitting around in the woods or imagining tiny little houses in the woods around my house.

Nowadays there are just so many different types of fairy dolls and fairy villages that you can create. It's mind boggling and difficult to choose just one to make.  If you're anything like me you've made many different types: fairies, gnomes, bendy's, fairie pegs, fairy wands, fairy houses, fairies out of pinecones, fairy villages, flower fairies, fairy toadstools, mushrooms, etc.

I just love making everything and anything fairy. If you do, too and would like to learn how to make them I hope you find the tutorials, patterns, articles, projects, and how-to's helpful.

Doll Making Tutorials, Video's, Patterns and How-To's Pinterest Board

It's no secret that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dolls.  Ya think!

I love everything and anything about them. In fact, I've never seen a doll I haven't loved or seen a type of doll I haven't wanted to make. I want to try making every conceivable type of doll there is. It's a lifetime quest which I know at this point I'll probably never finish. For sure, I'll give it my best shot.

Over the years I've bought many doll patterns and created dolls from some of the wonderful free tutorial, how-to's and patterns I've seen. I've made close to 2000 dolls now, some of my own design and some based on other doll makers designs.

Not only do I love making dolls, but I love finding out the history of all the different types of dolls there are and different ways for making them.  You could say I love history and research as well.

I used to print out all the free doll making tutorials and patterns I wanted to try and saved them in a folder. Well, as you can imagine, I ended up with way too many folders and places to store them. So, I created a Pinterest board for doll making tutorials, patterns, articles, projects, and how-to's for making dolls. I hope you enjoy what I've found.

The board above is for general doll making. As there are so many different type of dolls and ways to make them I decided to set up several specific types of doll making Pinterest boards for art dolls, clay dolls, paperclay dolls, papier mache dolls, reproductions dolls, paper dolls, cloth dolls, primitive dolls, softies, goddess dolls, fairy dolls, and Matryoshka dolls. I also set up Pinterest boards for dollhouses, doll clothes, doll furniture making tutorials, patterns, and how-to's. I'm hoping to post about some of those in the posts that follow. So, if you love making dolls like I do I hope you'll be pleased with all my Pinterest boards.

Happy doll making.

Gotta Love Beautiful Fans - My Fan Tutorial, Video's and How-To's Pinterest Board

I can remember as a child playing with the Victorian fans from my great, great Aunt Flossie and my Grandmother.  They were just beautiful and I loved opening and closing them.  Of course, I ended up breaking one and that was the last time I was allowed to play with them.  To pacify me my mother bought me a little plastic fan that wouldn't break as quickly.  However, over time break it did.  I still have that broken fan somewhere as well as a wooden fan from my grandmother.  I don't know what happened to my great, great Aunt Flossie's Victorian fans.

Beautiful fans have been a fashion accessory for awhile.  After all who can resist a woman wearing a beautiful Rococo, Edwardian, or Victorian dress holding a beautiful fan. I would love to see some of the beautiful fan pictures that I've pinned to my Beautiful Fans Through The Ages Pinterest board. They're just beautiful works of art all unto themselves - don't you think?  I have a few hundred pictures of these beautiful and historic fans from some of the museum websites I like to visit and am always looking for more.  If you'd like to see some of these beautiful works of art please click here.  Be sure to click through to the respective museum page to see more of the beautiful fans in their respective museum collection.

While I can't recreate such beautiful works of art perhaps these tutorials, video's and how-to's will show me how to make one.

How can you resist bright, cheery pinwheels blowing in the breeze?  I can't and I suspect I'm not alone.  If you like pinwheels like I do then you'll be happy to know that Jessica Kesterson has a wonderful tutorial on her Living the Swell Life blog showing you how to make a paper pinwheel.  Enjoy!

Here's what Jessica had to say about her tutorial:   Happy June! Can you believe it? It's truly summertime. Based on this post and this photo shoot, I suppose it's no secret that this girl has a pinwheel fetish. I had a few inquiries about exactly how I made these little paper+pencil pinwheels, so I thought I'd share this simple tutorial to kick off the season of sandals+ sunshine. They are quick to make and would make killer centerpieces and/or favors at that big summer bbq you're planning. Or what an amazing send-off at your summer wedding...Imagine all your guests lined up with hundreds of bright paper pinwheels in hand. Yum. Or you could just make one for you. For your little flower bed. No fancy occasion necessary.
