I just love handmade accessories for dolls. So, when Romona King of Northbrook Designs told me she had created another wonderful FREE .pdf tutorial for creating an adorable mandolin on her Northbrook Designs blog I was thrilled.

Here's what Romona had to say about her tutorial: I’ve always loved to see dolls doing something, whether it be holding something, a fun pose or sitting on something, and anything else you can think of. Dolls just standing looking straight ahead like mannequins, just seems a shame after all the work that goes into making the doll.
When I was making my collection of Jesters to go into our local museum exhibit, for July/August
2015, I wanted some of them to be holding musical instruments. One of them has a flute, another
has a violin and it seemed just a natural thing that one should have a mandolin.
Small, musical doll instruments are not always easy to find, and if you want them to be a good
quality, you will have to pay for that. So if this is something useful to you and makes it more
affordable, the technique here could be used to make other string instruments for your own dolls. All
it requires is your time to make it.
