I made this postcard holder tonight and thought I would share it with you all. A lot of my supplies are packed, getting ready for our move so this postcard holder was made from very basic supplies. It is a great project for a beginner who does not have all of the fancy gadgets.
Supplies:
8½" x 11" piece of cardstock
11" x 3/4" piece of cardstock
DP (decorative paper) 1" square and one 5½" x 1¼" piece.
Postcard to match your DP
2 small brads
Velcro
adhesive
sewing machine and white thread (or white pen)
punches
Take a piece of 8½" x 11" piece of cardstock and score it in the middle (going from one 11' side to the other (making your score mark 8½" long) then score 1" on each side of that score mark.

Now score down both 11" sides about 3/4" in from the edge.

Cut on the score lines using the picture as a guide.

Bend the three score lines in the middle of the paper making sure the middle score mark bends up causing a peak. Fold the sides in, overlapping each other and use adhesive to hold them together.

Take a postcard and use a corner punch to round all four corners. Attach the postcard to the front of the holder using your adhesive.
Cut one square from a 1" square punch. If you do not have a punch you can measure and cut the square. Cut the square in half from one corner to the other, making 2 triangles. Glue each triangle to the 2 bottom corners overlapping the postcard.
Cut a piece of DP (decorative paper) 5½" long x 1¼" wide. (for added strength you can glue your DP to a piece of cardstock) You can leave the ends squared off or use a decorative punch on one end. Attach 2 small brads to the strip of DP as shown in the finished photo. Attach the square end of the strip near the top of the back side of the postcard holder using adhesive.
Cut a piece of cardstock that is 11" long x 3/4" wide. Sew down the long sides ¼" in from the edge on both sides. If you do not have a sewing machine you can use a white pen to make stitch marks.

Attach the strap to the inside of the postcard holder (on each end).
Use a piece of Velcro on the closure.

That's it! :) Fill with postcards or greeting cards and give as a gift or keep for yourself. For an added touch you can attach brads to the top of each side, going through the holder and strap.
