A very simple way of making potholders.
You can use 3 layers of Warm N Natural batting OR Insul-Bright. Sold on the net.
Pick any quilt block you like, around 8 inches square.
Make sure all fabrics are prewashed/dried/ironed.
Make your ‘quilt sandwich’ of backing, batting and top.
Quilt as desired.
Bind using a traditional binding method, found here is one method: http://quilting.about.com/od/bindingaquilt/ss/mitered_binding.htm
OR you can even do it pillowcase style where you just put the 2 pieces of fabric right sides together with batting on one side. Stitch all the way around, leaving about 3 inches hole to turn. Turn and stitch down. Make sure you do a running top stitch all the way around.
Attach a handle if you desire OR leave as is.
Enjoy! Makes a great quick Christmas gift.
